Introduction
After Judge Blair Cherry retired from the bench of the 72nd District Court I actively sought the Governor's appointment to fill the vacancy. At the time I announced I would be a candidate in the special election to fill the unexpired term of two years. I was honored to receive the appointment. I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the tremendous support and efforts put forth on my behalf
The special election coincides with our November general elections. Even though I have not drawn an opponent I still consider it a very important election. Under our system of selecting District Judges you, the voters, have the final word. We, as judges, must answer to you. I consider it a tremendous privilege to serve you and will continue my efforts to bring honor, integrity, common sense and a strong work ethic to the court.
I will continue to act with fairness and impartiality in the administration of justice while maintaining the honor, dignity, reputation and the highest traditions of our court system. Everyone before my court will be treated with respect.

I plan to have periodic "no host" luncheons in an effort to keep you informed and to discuss, in open forum, topics of interest. There will be periodic reports, either by fax, e-mail, or hard copy (your choice.)
